Lighthouse To be happy or not to be. That is the question. What makes us happy? Or how do we find the path to it? To illustrate this, I painted a picture of a lighthouse. At
the top of the tower, the light shines brightly. The light represents all the attributes of happiness. Freedom, love, serenity, peace, lightness. At
the very bottom, you can see people walking past the tower. They aren’t looking up; they’re busy and lost in thought.
Between the light and the darkness, you can see the tower’s staircase.

The steps represent each of our thoughts, words, deeds, experiences, and memories. Everything we see and hear. Everything that stirs emotions within us.
The quality of those emotions determines whether we go up or down the steps.
If we are on our way up, it grows ever brighter. We become the light itself.

If we go down the stairs, it grows ever darker until we can no longer see the light at all. That is the devastating part. We become entangled in negative thoughts that trigger negative emotions.
Many know what it’s like to see the most beautiful sunset but feel nothing. It seems hopeless, and you can no longer find joy in anything.

It is important to understand that thoughts generate emotions. Imagination plus feeling equals manifestation. Energy follows attention. This happens completely automatically. That is why we should consciously choose what we invite into our minds. Even if you run into a neighbor in the hallway who just wants to briefly tell you the latest bad news about the world, you should consciously avoid the conversation or, better yet, steer it toward something positive. That way, maybe they’ll benefit from it too ;)
That doesn’t mean you should sugarcoat everything. But you can always ask yourself if there’s anything you can change about the situation. If not, then there’s no point in worrying about it.

We all have one thing in common: the desire to be happy.

If you truly want to change something, you must be the change yourself. Be the light! Live as if heaven were already on earth. And love as if you had never been hurt. Meet every person, every being, with an open mind. And see the sacred in everything.
