Kunzite (pink spodumene) is used to strengthen empathy; in this way, the mineral can also help overcome communication difficulties more easily. Kunzite supports the willingness to listen to and accept criticism calmly.

The mineral kunzite was named after its discoverer, George Frederick Kunz (1856–1932), a renowned American gemologist. While working for the famous jeweler Tiffany, Kunz discovered the mineral in 1903 in Pala, California. Spellings such as kunziet, kunzite, or cuncit are therefore incorrect.
