Heart Chakra

The heart chakra—also known as Anahata—is the fourth main chakra in the human energy system and is located in the center of the chest, at the level of the physical heart. It forms a bridge between the lower, physical-emotional chakras and the upper, mental-spiritual levels. The heart chakra represents love, compassion, harmony, and connection—to oneself, to others, and to the world.

An open and balanced heart chakra is characterized by:

If the heart chakra is blocked, emotional wounds, emotional withdrawal, sadness, loneliness, or relationship difficulties may arise. Excessive self-sacrifice or fear of intimacy are also possible signs of an imbalance. Physically, it is associated with the heart, lungs, thymus gland, and the upper back.
